KLM Dog Hours & Restrictions

Unsure on the dog hours and restrictions for KLM? Download details here.

Dogs are allowed at KLM Park 5:00am to 9:00 am and 7:00 pm to 10 pm ONLY from March 1st through October 31st in the area north of the creek. Dogs are not allowed during Village sponsored events and when signs are posted.

Individuals who violate the rules are subject to fines issued by the Hinsdale Police Department.

Park Clean-Up Day!

In honor of Earth Day, join in the fun as a volunteer to help beautify Village Parks! Saturday April 18th, 8:30am at a designated park with light refreshments following at 11:00am at KLM Lodge. 2015 Pool Passes

Pool passes went on sale March 2nd, 2015 at 8:00am! Early Bird discounts are available through April 30th.

  • If you were a previous pass holder, starting March 2nd renewal can be completed online. To verify your login and password information, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department.
  • If you are looking to change your pass type or purchase a pass for the first time, you must register in person or mail in the completed membership form with proof of residency.
  • Super Passes are sold out.

Athletic Field & Park Bathroom Updates

Weather permitting, park bathrooms will open April 6th on weekdays, and on weekends April 18th. Bathrooms will be open by 9:00 am and are secured nightly by the Police Department at approximately 8:00 pm. The facilities are not heated therefore the opening of the facility is dependent on the weather. Once overnight temperatures consistently stay above freezing, Village staff will prepared the facilities.

Weather permitting, athletic fields will be open on April 6th. It is important to keep in mind that although the snow has melted, additional time will be required to allow the fields to dry out and become serviceable. Patience and cooperation is appreciated as staff manage the field maintenance. While anxious and well meaning, please do not use the fields prior to them being officially opened and also do not take it upon yourself to perform maintenance and field preparation without prior approval of the Village.

Parks & Recreation Winter/Spring Brochure

The Village of Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Winter/Spring Program Brochure was delivered to residents on Monday, December 8th. Registration is available on-line, in-person or by mail. New programs for the spring include CPR classes, art, dance and preschool enrichment programs.

2015 picnic reservations begin Dec. 1st for Hinsdale residents and Jan. 2nd for non-residents.

A permit is required for any picnic at Katherine Legge Memorial Park. Call the Park and Recreation Dept. to make your reservation.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any Village park at any time.

Over 600 programs are offered by the Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Department annually. The year round activities are designed to meet the leisure interests of Hinsdale residents.

Community Special Events organized by the Department include the 4th of July Parade and Festival and the Fall Family Festival. Many other special events are also held throughout the year.

The Village of Hinsdale is a member of the Gateway Special Recreation Association. Current members have pooled resources to contract with the Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities to provide recreational service for children and adults with disabilities.

Many programs are offered through Gateway including bowling, bike riding, Special Olympics training, swimming and tennis. Registration for camp and other Gateway programs is taken at the Anna Emery Hanson Center located at 59th and Garfield Streets.

For Families who wish to participate in more integrated programming through their local park and recreation departments, Ray Graham Staff are available to help act as a resource. This service is offered free to residents of Gateway SRA member communites. For more information please visit the Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities website.
