ComEd Utility Pole Program
ComEd will inspect and potentially repair 3,500 of their poles in Hinsdale.

To access the poles, which are often located in back yard easements, contractors may be required to cross over private property.  Once within ComEd’s easement, workers may move from pole to pole without returning to ground level.  Work may include drilling core samples of the poles, excavation work in the immediate vicinity of a pole location, or occasional injections of a rot and insect resistant compound within the pole.

ComEd’s authorized contractor, Osmose Utilities Services Inc., has been instructed to alert residents whenever possible before accessing private property.  Osmose/ComEd employees may knock at residents’ doors or leave door hangers as notification.  All Osmose employees should have ComEd-generated identification, which should be shown upon request.

Any resident who has concerns or questions about this work is encouraged to contact ComEd at 1-800-EDISON1.
