Since January 26th, there have been 5 reported incidents of burglary to unlocked vehicles that have occurred during the overnight hours. Each of these cases have occurred while vehicles are parked in residential driveways, or on the street in front of the home.

Numerous items of value have been taken from the vehicles, but most of the items have included: money, sunglasses, sporting equipment.

The Hinsdale Police Department is urging residents to not only lock their vehicles when left unoccupied, but also to conceal valuables including purses, wallets, and electronics. If you observe behavior that is unusual or suspicious, contact the Hinsdale Police Department by calling 9-1-1. It is important to report an accurate description of the person(s) clothing, height, gender, and race.
