The Village of Hinsdale is currently accepting
applications for the position of Assistant Finance
Director.
Position Purpose
This position supervises and coordinates the daily
activities of the Finance Department including the
preparation of financial reports, maintenance of
financial records, and financial computer systems
administration. The Assistant Finance Director reports
to the Assistant Village Manager/Finance Director
and directly supervises three full-time employees
and three part-time employees.
Essential Functions
Supervises the functional areas of accounting, payroll,
utility billing, accounts receivable, and cashier/reception.
Supervises the preparation of transactions, proper
record keeping, and report preparation by department
staff. Provides technical guidance and support for
department personnel and ensures the quality of
services that are provided.
Responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger
system, journal entry preparation, monthly bank
reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Coordinates the annual Village audit including the
preparation of all audit workpapers and preparation
of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
Provides assistance to the Assistant Village Manager/Finance
Director in the preparation of the annual budget,
treasury management, and pension fund administration.
Position Requirements
The position requires a minimum of four years increasingly
responsible experience. Previous supervisory experience
and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance,
or related field is required. Prior governmental
accounting or public accounting experience is preferred.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have
strong communication, customer service and management
skills. The successful candidate will be able to
provide effective supervision to subordinate personnel
and will be able to communicate effectively with
co-workers, supervisors, elected officials and the
public. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal
skills are required including the ability to deal
with adverse situations occasionally.
Public Contact
The incumbent has regular and consistent contact
with the public, other Village employees, and elected
and appointed officials.

The salary range for the position is $71,405 to
$109,939 dependent on qualifications plus an excellent

Crossing Guard

The Village of Hinsdale has immediate openings
and is accepting applications for both full-time
and substitute Crossing Guards. Full-time Crossing
guards work approximately 185 days, 2-2½
hours per day. All school holidays off. Crossing
guards are responsible for crossing elementary-aged
children at intersections identified throughout
the Village. All necessary training provided. Crossing
times are as followed: 8:20-8:40AM, 11:25-11:45AM,
12:00-12:20PM, and 3:05-3:25PM. Times may vary depending
on location. Substitutes will be paid for each crossing
time that he/she covers. Substitutes can cover up
to four (4) crossings per day.
Current annual salary is $6,143.00/school year.
