Account Clerk

The Village of Hinsdale is currently accepting applications for a full-time Account Clerk in the Finance Department. Hours are Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (37.5 hours/week).

This position is primarily responsible for accounts payable processing. Duties include processing purchase orders and invoices for payment, responding to inquiries from other employees and vendors, maintaining vendor records, tracking bids and contractor bonds and preparing tax information. This position also provides administrative support to the Finance Department.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, have strong customer service and math skills, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. One to three (1-3) years accounts payable experience required. Prior government experience preferred.

Finance Assistant (Temporary/Part-Time)

The Village of Hinsdale is currently hiring a temporary part-time Finance Assistant. The position duties include updating account information for the Village's new water meter project and creating a spreadsheet to track the project. The job duration is expected to be 12-18 months. 20 hours/week during normal business hours. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong customer services skills are required. Engineer (Seasonal)

The Village of Hinsdale is currently seeking an experienced Engineer to provide professional assistance and support with managing infrastructure projects in the Community Development Department.


  • Managing routine local, state and federal reporting requirements
  • Overseeing street resurfacing and municipal infrastructure improvement program
  • Assisting with infrastructure management planning
  • Assisting with residential drainage complaints and localized drainage resolution
  • Assisting with the management of capital projects


A Bachelor's Degree in engineering from a recognized college or university; 3-5 years related experience. Experience working in/for a municipality preferred.


The position will be seasonal working from spring to fall, approximately 25-29 hours per week. Salary is $40/hour +/- DOQ. There are no fringe benefits associated with the position.

Crossing Guard
