The
Department of Community Development is comprised of the
following operating departments:
Engineering
Building and Zoning
Engineering
Engineering is responsible for the scheduling, design, construction
of public improvements, and inspection of private improvements.
Activities include surveying work, drafting, plan design
and review, and inspections. The Engineering Department
is staffed by three full-time employees and supplemented
by consulting firms working under the direction of the Village
Engineer.
Building
and Zoning
The Building and Zoning Department is charged with the responsibility
of administering the Village's zoning regulations, building
codes, and life safety requirements as well as enforcement
of those regulations. Plans submitted for permit are reviewed
for compliance with applicable regulations and are inspected
during the course of construction.
