Project Background
Katherine Legge Memorial Park is a large community
park that is located on the southwest side in the
Village of Hinsdale. It is approximately 52 acres
and currently includes the following: lacrosse fields,
paddle tennis courts, playground, two large shelters
with fireplaces, walking trails, dog area. There
are several buildings within the site including
the Zook House, The Lodge, an Administration Building,
The Annex, Arts Center and a barn used for storage.
The OSLAD Grant application for Katherine Legge
Memorial Park seeks to focus on the existing picnic
shelters and playground area. Possible grant items
could include a large picnic shelter, decorative
shelter for weddings, nature explore playground,
splash pad, skate spot, dog park, Frisbee golf,
sled hill, lacrosse fields/multi-purpose fields,
paddle courts and fitness loop.
Design Perspectives, Inc. of Naperville, is currently
working on conceptual designs for the park and will
present these designs at the first series of public
meetings on Wednesday, May 19th and Monday,
June 7th. Resident input is highly desired
and we look forward to hearing your ideas.
